Moranbah – wrapup

Leaving Grandkids and great- grandsprogs at Moranbah, heading for Nebo west of Mackay and then we head west towards Belyando Crossing. The new Adani mine is nor far from there. We’re in mining country, giant trucks and wide loads. Feeling quite at home. Perhaps I should crack out my orange hi-viz shirt.

Had a great night singing with my Dad. Not bad for a 77yr old. He’s still got, it even with the old squeeze box. Topping it off with big cuddles from Granddaughter Holly.

The Child Bride and I spent many years in mining towns between the 70s to 2010 and I must admit I felt quite at home on our visit to Moranbah. The Bride and I checked out the Town Square and we had a wonderful time yarnin’ (as one does) to Jenna who owns The Roast Shack (impressive, we’ll-run business) and her two staff Chloe on the right and Skye on the left. Then we found out that both Jenna and her husband are also underground miners, and both had previous lives as Police Officers in The Shaky Isles. More yarnin’. Great little town…. But no van park or dump point

Just in case there was an idea out there that The Child Bride and I were just travelling about, our granddaughter shot this video of us in Moranbah shooting instructional videos and stills for new caravan users. The Bride wields a mean iPhone X and has been at it most of the day.
